But the industry's service to the community is often taken for granted or overlooked.

The Foundation recognises that the motor industry touches lives in so many ways and that it has the potential to make a difference by giving back to the community.

This long-held vision is being turned into reality by The Western Australian Motor Industry Foundation through the support of those less fortunate or disadvantaged, by enhancing and improving lives, uplifting those individuals, their families and their communities. It is the belief of the Foundation that when society progresses in this way, the entire community benefits.

The primary focus of the Motor Industry Foundation is to make a difference to people who need assistance the most; that is those families and individuals who have a child or children suffering from a severe disability and who, without the Foundation’s assistance, would not have the benefit of mobility.

The Foundation provides suitable vehicles (such as fully equipped Toyota Commuter Buses fitted with wheel chair hoists) to families who, without that assistance, would struggle to take their child or children to much-needed medical and remedial care. The vehicles also allow such families to take their child or children on outings such as those that others take for granted, and in a small way this injects a degree of normality into what is usually a very stressful life for the family concerned.
