The Motor Industry Foundation has identified broad areas to which its funding and support will be directed. The identified causes include, but are not limited to:
- Assistance to victims of motor vehicle accidents, who have not been adequately compensated or assisted through third party insurance or other forms of compensation.
- Assistance to disadvantaged youth through suitable training and employment opportunities in the industry, including those who have been involved in the misuse or theft of motor vehicles and who can be helped to become productive members of society.
- Assistance in the provision of low-cost or no-cost vehicles to deserving members of the community who are in critical need of such assistance.
- Assistance with innovative programs designed to reduce the road toll.
